Hair Two

It has been so long since I last did a hair post.

And since I am only mildly obsessed with trying to curl my hair, I decided that the very beautiful Babyliss Hot Roller Professional Set needed a friend, and purchased their highly rated Tourmaline Curling Iron as well.

Truth be told, I have only used it once, and that was the trial run that only my bedroom walls saw! I can't seem to section off the hair properly. I am bad at being a girl, I know. :(

However, I do have some lovely products to share though.

The Tresemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray appears to be a cult product, but since I have never used a heat protectant product before, I can't attest if it's good. I do love the smell though and the easy applicator.

I bought the Tigi Curlesque Curl Rock Amplifier in the hopes of having beautiful bouncy curls that stand the test of time, but so far it has failed me. I reckon it's because I have straight hair instead of naturally curly hair, which is their true target market.

Tigi Bed Head After Party is another great smelling product, and the bottle is super funky! I wouldn't mind throwing this in my work bag for a quick fix. It works well, but so does the Tresemme Smoothing Creme which admittedly I use more often seeing as it's so much cheaper. My hair frizzes like crazy after a blow dry or a session with the hot rollers so these two products are a must-have for me!

The Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder is supposedly a magical volumizing powder. I have only ever used it once because it did not seem to work for me, and it was terribly hard to wash out!

The Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Hair Spray came highly recommended but so far my hair still seems as lifeless as ever so I only use it when I need a light hold. The spray nozzle is pretty user-unfriendly, and the product comes out in short small spurts. Not helpful when you are trying to mist your hair evenly.

As for the Cedel Hair Spray, I got it because it benefits the Breast Cancer Foundation and comes in such a happy pink color. I would probably go for L'Oreal's Elnett Hair Spray after this is used up because my mom recommends it. :)

Do any of you dearies have any good hair products to recommend me? I love trying new things!

Hehe, and if you have read my entry faithfully till the end, you deserve a pat on the back from me! ♥♥

PS: Could anyone tell me what Feedburner is? I actually just found out I have 1238 readers on there, and put the widget in my sidebar but still have no idea what it stands for or does.

I should be renamed The Cat Noob... :|

  2. I am so crap at curling my hair - it always looks great when the hairdresser does it, but when I try it at home I can't manage it. And I get about a third of the way in and get bored/sore arms and give up.

  6. The only curling iron I've ever found to work for me is this ancient thing of my mom's from the 80s. (Probably, it is hotter than is considered safe anymore, haha.) Thanks for the smoother recommendation! Frizzy hair is so annoying to deal with sometimes.

  14. I love my curling iron but using it too much is not good for my hair. I really ought to take better care of my hair.
I don't really need to worry about volumising. My hair is naturally quite kinky and it curls well. I just need to discover a good hair spray for they hold longer.

  16. Hi Addie! It's good to know I'm not the only one that's bad at "being a girl." :) I just use Curlformers to create curls right now. It doesn't last very long and looks weird when put on but it creates the waves I want. I suck at using the curling iron. lol. xx

  17. I've used the Tigi Curlesque Curl Rock Amplifier in the past and it has worked well for me but I do have naturally curly hair so I think it's probably better for us curly haired girls. I've heard tigi bed head extreme curl mousse is good for creating curls :) xx

  18. I've got the Tigi Bed Head After Party and I must say it works quiet well =) I don't usually purchase expensive products for my hair but as I used to be a hairdresser I had reductions in pro shops :p

for the Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder,I've always used it on short men's hair, just put a bit of powder on the hair, wet your fingers and style your hair. It's a nice product but doesn't work at all fr long hair =/

When I want straighten my really curly hair I use the "3day straight" styling srpay from John Frieda (in the UK: Boots and Superdrug) and it's so much easier to straighten it =)

  35. hey Addie!, those are pretty neat tips. my daughter has been wanting to buy a hair straightener and curling iron..geez i havent got a clue what to buy. i wish i could share some hair products to you too. i am still old school when it comes to beauty products. although there is one old school trick that you might want to try. dont knw if it really works coz i'm a bit lazy when it comes to following a beauty ritual :) They say that a mixture of olive oil and lavender essentila oil would be a great hair conditioner, like a hot oil massage. i do it sometimes, my hair feels soft, but like i said i dont follow the ritual hahahha.....hmnnn....maybe i should start blogging about home made hair treatment. I've got a book about hair and skin stuff, which FYI i have read only once hahahhaha.....take care now!

  40. Goldwell just launched a style line that I picked up a few products from. I got one of their thermal protectors and I love how soft and shiny it makes my hair. I also use Wella's new color protection products because I've been coloring my hair recently. Their products always smell really good.

  43. Since you're looking for new products, I can't say enough about Wen cleansing conditioner. I've been using it religiously and my hair has never looked shinier. Plus it also makes a great styling cream. I use it to defrizz my (curly) hair because it leaves the hair soft and not crunchy in any way.

  44. I would be absolutely no help--I only know what works to get curls out of hair!

  45. I used to have such a hard time with my hair and curling it! I'd curl it, put tons of hairspray in my hair and within the hour it'd be flat. My hair is just so naturally straight, it's ridiculous. I've tried tons of different hair sprays and curling irons and I've finally found things that work for my hair. (:

Going to have to try out some of these products!

  48. Gosh, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect hair product, but for some reason they never work for me (even the good stuff). Maybe because I have really coarse hair. Hmmmmm...

  49. Ok, honestly, I am a bit shy on curling my hair (even though my hair's naturally wavy... a bit odd huh? lol), I keep it straight via Rebonding Treatment and once it starts to grow and it's not time for my treatment yet, a straightening ironso umm.. sry hun, I'm afraid I have no products I could recommend ;( However, I did read up your post from start to finish haha.

  50. Ha, I am the same - I'm not really good at being a girl when it comes to make up or doing my hair... And the fact, that I don't enjoy all this stuff probably contributes too. I like looking good, but I don't enjoy the process lol

  61. i haven´t used any of these styleproducts before but i think i will try this heat protection of tresemme because those i tried smell so chemically and the hair feels really heavy after drying it, well maybe the reason is because when i´m buying beauty products i´m thinking to much about how good they have to look in bathroom ;)

She has thick, wavy hair. She uses it after she straightens her hair to tame the left over frizz. I love Tresemme Hair spray. The Extra Firm Hold because it holds well and feels like you never sprayed your hair.
